This is another photo I took during my trip to Vail in January 2008. I took this photo on the Blue Sky Basin section of Vail. It was a sunny day with a few inches of fresh powder from the storm the night before. As more snow rolled in that week, the powder conditions become phenomenal, but it was much colder and much snowier so I didn’t bring out my camera.
Here is another photo from the January 2008 trip to Vail, Colorado with the Nisei Ski Club. This bowl, which is one of many on the backside of Vail, is named China Bowl. The name China Bowl comes from the rock formation at the top of the other side of the bowl (not pictured) resembling the Great Wall of China.
This photo was taken on February 6, 2006 with a Canon Powershot G2, before I started shooting with a DSLR camera. I took this is a photo of snow ghosts at ski resort in British Columbia, Canada called Big White while on a trip with the Nisei Ski Club. Snow ghosts are trees covered with snow that has accumulated throughout the winter and get their shapes from the weight of the snow and the wind.
