Great photo of the fall colors. Alas, when I visited New England in the fall of 2002, all I had was a 0.5 (aagh!) mpixel camera!

I found the spot removal tool in Lightroom. It works really well. I'll have to fix up the photo and re-post it.

Thanks for the tips.

Is there a feature in Lightroom to remove dust spots?

What do you do when there is no foreground interest? Except for the road, what you see in the bottom third was all that was around when we pulled over to take a look at the "flaming mountains." There might have been a few small rocks around. It wasn't like the deserts of Southern California or Arizona, it was super desolate.

They're really skittish around new people, which is why you haven't seen them. They went and found the darkest corner to hide in.

Looks like an interesting part of China. The ruggedness of the area can be very photographic.

Few suggestions: make sure you remove the dust spots from the images, those can be really distracting (but also easy to find) on blue sky shots like this.

Also, if you had some sort of fore ground interest, this photo would be more compelling. Something to pull the viewer into the image, otherwise everything on the bottom third of the photo is wasted un-interesting space.

All things to keep in mind next time your out shooting.
